It has been just over two years since this picture was taken. It is just a glimpse of the wonderful time my beautiful wife Erin and I had on our honeymoon in VA’s Blue Ridge Mountains. There we are with the rich greenish-blue sky all around us, engulfing us just as it is the mountain tops in the back ground.
I have always kind of been in love with the color blue. I will be the first to admit that in general I have never appreciated nature as much as one should. And I have no formal qualifications to speak on aesthetics. However I have always been overwhelmed by simply looking up in to that big blue sky that surrounds us. One of my favorite things to do is to lay on my back outside on a clear sunny day. The scene is one much like a child might compose when first beginning to draw; everything is sort of a powdery-baby blue there may be just a couple of soft fluffy white clouds that look like they just came from mom’s laundry dryer and of course the bright yellow sun is just hanging up there in the top corner of the page. Beautiful.
I also am no sage or philosopher. However when I look up in the rich atmosphere surrounding us or stand at the edge of the Ocean’s vast expanse I can’t help but wonder how many other people are staring at the exact same thing at that exact moment. I feel our connectedness as human beings. I feel so big and so small, all at once.
This site is for anyone who has ever stood in awe stargazing or laid on there back in the summer sun and felt compelled to ask what is behind the clouds. We are laying, standing, sitting or kneeling on Common ground beneath a common blue sky.
Shalom,
Wayne
